Blackwork Embroidery

Blackwork embroidery is worked with a counted technique (from a chart) and is traditionally stitched with black thread although many modern designs now include many colours.

Blackwork designs are made up of outlining and infill stitches to complete geometric patterns. Sometimes designs incorporate cross stitches and blackwork stitches.
